In building this directory we encountered some significant SEO spamming/farm activity across every major metro. While not illegal, this is certainly a manipulative practice that is putting money in a scammer's pockets and is likely not the network you want to be rewarding with your business.
French drain work is not a licensed trade
Unlike some trades, french-drain and yard-drainage installation has no state license or governing board in most places. That means we can't (and won't) tell you a contractor is "state-verified" or "certified". Instead, our trust signal is simpler and more honest:
Every business on this list has to clear the same checks before it earns a place. We can't promise any contractor will do perfect work — nobody honestly can — but we can promise these aren't the fakes:
- An operating local business. We remove the lead-gen mills, the per-city template sites sharing one phone number, and the out-of-area "national" pages posing as local shops.

A business can claim its listing to keep the details current and, if it wants, feature
itself — but the ranking and the core facts (name, location, phone from the public
record) are never for sale. Claiming never changes the underlying facts; it just lets a
real owner keep them accurate.
